Job Coach – Eau Claire Area

​The Job Coach works with developmentally disabled personnel to integrate them into the community workforce through job assistance and skill enhancement. This position will assist in the Eau Claire area.

Community Integration Specialist

​The Community Integration Specialist is responsible for planning, supervising and transporting individuals with disabilities to local businesses and events on a daily basis. Ideal candidate must enjoy interacting with others and learning about what our community has to offer. Must be comfortable with the Eau Claire City bus system and have a valid driver's license. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. May need to assist with some personal cares while out and about with our members. The Community Integration Specialist works closely with other staff to assure program consistency and generalization of learned skills in order for members to more fully integrate into the community and to encourage maximum independence.

Employment Specialist


An Employment Specialist works with community businesses/employers and partners to expand
competitive employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. The primary responsibilities of this
position include working with a person-centered focus model in all of the following areas: case
management, mentoring, job placement, career exploration, retention, long term support management,
developing partnerships, marketing agency services, meeting community business needs, assist in self-
advocacy, etc. It’s important for the Employment Specialist to have knowledge in goal setting, labor
market analysis, disability, accommodations, communication, and job search tools.


QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Human Services with 2 years experience in supported employment, vocational rehabilitation,
job placement, or similar field. It is also preferred to have knowledge of and experience working with
individuals with mental illness, physical and cognitive disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communication: ability to coordinate meetings with candidates and/or their supports to complete state required reports and supporting materials. Consult with appropriate supports of the candidates when there are questions regarding: daily living skills, employment abilities and skills, career interests, work experiences, transportation, etc. Be able to receive and provide information verbally, written, or electronically without any issues.

  • Networking and Building Community Relationships: network and collaborate with community businesses/employers to identify their job needs, share how our candidates’ abilities and skills can assist with their business needs to ensure both are successful. Actively develop and maintain relationships with community referral sources such as: counties, state agencies, schools, and community agencies (DVR, Comprehensive Community Services, CCoT, APSE, Chamber of Commerce, etc.).

  • Case Management: ability to manage time and multiple different types of caseloads: job placement, mental health/substance abuse, youth, peer support, long term support, etc.

  • Document activities and services from employer contacts, job leads, meeting outcomes, incidences, meeting dates, communication correspondence, etc.

  • Job Placement: contacting prospective employers, placing candidates in jobs, and being the liaison between both employers and candidates in order to ensure successful long-term employment. Coordinate employability skills, abilities and career interests through job shadows, internship/temporary work experiences, Skills to Pay the Bills, Explore Works, etc. within the community for persons with disabilities. Identify candidate employment barriers such as inaccessible work sites, inflexible schedules, transportation issues, etc., and work with candidate and/or their supports including employer to develop strategies to overcome these barriers.

  • Confidentiality: maintain confidentiality of information regarding all aspects of the program.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: ability to share, and combine skills, knowledge, and perspectives of team members in order to solve problems, contribute to each other’s strengths, meet candidate and/or program goals, and create an atmosphere of mutual support and trust.

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching

Teacher - Hand In Hand Child Care

Basic Functions of Job-Summary The Early Childhood Teacher establishes and maintains a safe, healthy, nurturing, fully inclusive learning environment. They will provide a positive early childhood experience by encouraging children to develop a healthy self-concept and positive self-esteem. This person will work to advance each child’s skills in the following developmental areas: large and small motor, language/communication, social/emotional and cognitive. They will work to establish positive and productive relationships with families and other staff members in order to ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to individual child and family needs.

Lead Teacher

 Hand In Hand Child Care

​The Early Childhood Lead Teacher maintains a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for all children. They work with others to help advance each child’s skills for further life development while providing positive and constructive guidance and discipline.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree related to Early Childhood Education and prior teaching experience

  • Experience working with children

  • Experience communicating with children and their parents

Assistant Teacher

Hand In Hand Child Care

Helps sustain a safe, healthy, learning environment for the children. Establishes a positive and productive relationship with families to ensure the program is responsive to the child and family needs. Coordinates with Program Coordinators to help maintain the program in accordance with Hand in Hand’s philosophy, Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards and State of Wisconsin licensing rules and regulations.
